Rule 10. Inherent powers

10.1 The rule
Nothing in these rules shall be deemed to limit or otherwise affect the inherent powers of the Appellate Tribunal to make such orders or give such directions as may be necessary for meeting the ends of justice or to prevent abuse of the process of the Appellate Tribunal.
10.2 What it does
Rule 10 is a saving clause, not a grant. It does not create a power; it declares that the 124 rules which surround it are not to be read as an exhaustive code, so that the absence of an express rule is not itself an answer to a party who needs an order.
